1997 Caravan unusual trans issue

Hello everyone. I am not new to the chrysler mini van transmission issues and have over the years seen many in the 13 mini vans that I have owned since 1988. I thought that I had seen it all from slipping, to not shifting, to holes in the bell housing leaking due to the pin malfunction in the differential.

This is a new one to me. The trans was and has been working fine no slipping no shifting problems or nothing.

Yesterday it just stopped working, period, in all gears. No warning, no sounds, no nothing. Checked the fluid and it was fine, no burning smell or anything.

The vehicle in question has a 3.3 v6 and a 4 speed trans.

Just for the heck of it I tried changing the filter even though there were no signs of problems such as the wining you hear when it is starving for fluid. There was very little attached to the magnet in the pan I have seen far worse with no problems. the fliud was a little dark but not burned at all. This did not solve a thing.

I tried changing the sol pack on the front side of the trans but still nothing. I have no test equipment but this just doesn't sound normal for transmission issues to me.

All suggestions are welcome, this is my primary vehicle and needs to run asap.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. No fault codes? Check the linkage? TCM connection not corroded or loose? Probably needs a shop. When this is fixed you should write a book. Maybe someone with experience can give you the magic bullet.
