rear creak and squeak

I have an 05 impala, pretty sure the rear strut mounts are fine as they are not thumping like the other impalas i have has,the struts themselves are also good, when i pull in my driveway over the concrete curb there is a squeek in the rear like something is dry, othere times are over the speed bumps,or certain bumps in the rd,it is not inside the car it is underneath in the rear as i rolled the car back and forth going into my driveway and can here it underneath the car, after numouris attempts to find this creaking i cannot fint ,i took all the rotors and pads off,not the breaks, while under the car in the rear i bounced the car up and down and it will not squeak at all or from side to side, only here it when driving in and out off the driveway or going over speed bumps, can anyone tell me what the hell else this counld be and how to try to pinpoint the noise, also i lubricated the top of the strut mounts in the trunk of the car still creaking

Re: rear creak and squeak

Perhaps it is not in the suspension but caused by body flex. might try grabbing your muffler and give it a shake rubber mounts could be cause, parking brake cable, check attach points of flexible brake hose, fuel lines. I've read here in posts about noise searches some use mic's taped to trouble spot area to listen through amplified device or recorder. Isolating annoying sqeaks and rattles is frustrating.

Re: rear creak and squeak

It is possible I guess for one of the struts to be cause with out being "bad" so to speak....worth a change out? Not really for a noisy op...I would even check spare tire bolt down, trunk gasket. Could always strap a neighbor kid under there....

i lubed all the exhaust rubber mounts,2 rears, one down under the rear pass side door and the 2 round gasts in front of the converter,as i removed the 2 donut stle rubber mounts i could here a real good squeek as i moved the whole exhaust back and forth,i pinpointed the noise up front for the squeeking to be where the exhauted bolts to the back of the engine, used half a can of lube on it from underneath the car and from the top, there is no squeek there now ,have not tried the car yet to see if it fixed the creaking or not,is it possible that where the front flange on the exhaust where it bolts to the front of the engine carrying the sound of this creaking from the front of the exhoust to the rear

i found out that after all the foolin around o find that rear creak thats in my car was the rubbers that go over the rear coil springs in the rear, upon changing my rear rotors and pads yesterday i noticed that when the car is lifted up the rubbers that meet together on the bottom 2 coils there are little dowels that rubbed through the last coil spring from the one on top of it down into the metal, put a pile of grease where the dowels meet the rubber where the spring rests on when the 2 come together when shes on the ground and the squeak is gone
