2002 Windshield Wiper Woes

My windshield wipers will not quit working. They go off ALL of the time and would be fine if it were raining...
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Re: 2002 Windshield Wiper Woes

I have a 2002 Explorer and had the same thing happen to me back in January. There was a short in the wiper motor. It had to be replaced. It was several days, however, before the work could be done, so the mechanic showed me under the hood which fuse to pull to get them to stop. Since it was a rainy winter here in TX, I was glad that at least the wipers got stuck in "on" not "off." lol Sorry I can't remember which fuse now.

Could also be the stalk switch (the arm where the wiper control on it) they are a common Ford problem or as Cynthia said, a bad motor. I've heard of both problems.

It's the multi-function switch. Ford talk for wiper switch. It controls that aspect of your wipers.
