Exclamation 2005 ford focus tranny problems and more

runaround We bought a 2005 ford focus (wagon) brand new , only 17 miles on it . And we have had nothing but problems , on after another .
It first started out with the hatch to the trunk would close and as ur driving down the road it would fly open and we would lose all our belongings or anything in the trunk. We took it to the shop and had them fix it , and they simply told us it was just a recall sitution and they repaired it . Now see if they repaired it , then why does it still open here and there on it own? and still they say its fixed.
Now going on the 3rd time this year we are going back to the shop for tranny problems (different shop) that keeps saying it was a recall and they fixed it, when yet any where from not even an hour to a month or so , we get the same exact problem and they go to fix it . Its where the O/D flashes on and then the gears kick really hard and the RPM goes up to 3,4 when it should not go that high!.
I have repeatly tried calling Ford Corp., Lemon law , and lawyers and no one will help me . they say its "wear and tear" . I have owned all used vechiles but this one , and never had as much problems as this new car. And its only at 40,000 miles.
Any one else having the same problem?

Re: 2005 ford focus tranny problems and more

You might adjust the rear hatch latch so it is tighter. You just may have to use more force to close it, but that to me would be preferable to losing all my stuff going down the road. Just go to the manager and explain in a nice way all of the problems you are having. Ford's motto is "Fixed the first time, every time."
