'89 Highbeams?
Hello,
Does the '89 Accord have highbeams? Mine has three settings, but they seem to do this in order: 1 - OFF 2 - Dashlights turn on, POSSIBLE LOW-BEAM SETTING? 3 - Dashlights on, and the lights in front of the car turn on, POSSIBLE HIGH-BEAM SETTING? When I set it to 3, then back to 2, the lights in front of the car don't flip back down, yet they don't flip up when I go from 1 to 2. I'm just wondering so I don't get pulled over in the city for having my high-beams on. Thanks! |

Re: '89 Highbeams?
The #2 setting is the parking lights, as with any other car. #3 is headlights on. The high beam switch is part of the turn signal stalk, pull it towards you (or away) to turn on high beams.
The other action is part of a way to leave the headlights up in situations like you are having an ice storm and they might get frozen closed if you park the car...but I don't remember exactly how it works...been too long. Something like if you turn it back to #2 (parking lights) and then shut the car off, then turn the switch to off (#1), the lights remain open...or something like that....
