06 Impala LT - Intermediate Steering Shaft
A few thousand miles ago I had my intermediate steering shaft replaced under warranty because I was getting a lot of clicking/clunking when turning.
Well of course now I am out of warranty and it's happening again. One garage said they could repack it for about $100, but it should really be replaced by the dealer. He said there were several TSB's on this issue. I went back to the dealer and they will not do anything. They said "that part is no good and would probably need to be replaced every 2 years anyways". But then he went on to say that GM has since modified the part. I think it's crap that I should have to keep paying for this part since they seem to know it is defective. I know it isnt a safety issue, but I want to get it fixed...it's annoying. Any advice? |

Re: 06 Impala LT - Intermediate Steering Shaft
There is a 1 800 number to call chevy with problems like this. I think it is in your owners manual. You could try that next.

Re: 06 Impala LT - Intermediate Steering Shaft
I was able to talk to the service manager at my local dealer and they are going to replace it at no charge.
