I am looking to use chains on my 02 Ram 4x4 quad cab during huntinf season this year. I have 245/70/R17 tires on it. It looks tight behind the wheel. Can I put chains on this tire and truck? Anyone know for sure before I buy the chains.
Thanks for any feedback gs49 |

Re: Tire Chains on my 02 Ram 4x4 quad cab 17" tires
yeah as for the tire size and truck. they run chains on semi's . the only thing is with chains on all four tires if you hang something solid like a big rock or root and the chain on one tire doesn't slip and your reved pretty good you will likely snap an axle or strip something else out. now on the other hand if you use common sense the chains will work out . the chains won't let the tires slip and grip like they normaly would and it doesn't take as much as you think to snap an axle . but good luck in what you decide.
