Unhappy 96 blazer runs rough dies in traffic

we have a 96 blazer it was running ok except for the dieing as soon as it is started thing that it has done for a long long time i got used to that- besides that it was running ok but then the other day it started running really rough (when it had run fine that morning) and dieing at stop lights when we try to take off after being stopped and doesnt seem to have much power. anyway after doing that the next day it ran just fine again no probs. then the next day after that it went back to running really bad even worse than the first time i was think maybe its a sensor that controls the amount of air mixing with the gas first i thought maybe the feul lines or injectors were dirty so i put injector cleaner in it no results either way
please help

Welcome to the forum!

Is the SES (Service Engine Soon) light on?
Have you checked fuel pressure?
How many miles on the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter?

If you have the csfi type fuel system, they are noted for problems. I believe the fuel pressure on these systems are critical, like the moderator said, check it.

If you haven't checked for codes, some of the national brand auto-stores will check OBD 11 codes for free.

Yes. Critical enough that mine wouldn't even start while "cycling" the fuel pump to output 58psi. They absolutely must have 60-66 psi to start and they must hold this pressure once the pump shuts off on relay off. My fuel pump had a bad check valve as well so it wouldn't even hold the 58psi that wouldn't start the car. I replaced a lot of crap before I finally figured out it was the fuel pump. Check the fuel pressure. Do that before you do anything else costly that might not solve the problem.
