Electrical Drain?
I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan. Recently and now every morning the battery is dead. The battery and alternator have been checked and are good. What I have noticed is that even after the car is off and the key has been removed, the radio and windows can still operate.
I don't know if these issues are related to the dead battery. Any suggestions as to why the drain? Thanks, Daniel |

Re: Electrical Drain?
The radio and power W circuits should not be hot with the key off. With the key in the lock position and the radio on, you might try to move the key a little, one way or the other, see if the radio goes off. Either the ignition switch is faulty or the radio and window circuits are shorted to voltage somewhere. The lock cylinder could be an issue.

Re: Electrical Drain?
I looked at a power distribution wiring diagram for this vehicle, I saw the connection for the radio and windows, but didn't see one for the door.
I guess I didn't look far enough? |
