adding the tapshift option

hey guys i have a 2004 pontiac grand prix GT1. the engine is 3800 series 3. I came accross the tap shift stering wheel with the air bag intacted at the junk yard where i do alot of parts for body shops. I was wondering if it was possible to add the tap shift option to my car or does the tranny need to be changed and does the BCM/PCM need a different programing? anything will be helpful on this thanks!
