I'm having a problem with my car cutting off. It's like the gas is just getting cut off. It cranks fine it just cuts off while driving or once I get out and get back in it's a gamble to see if it will start again. I've had the fuel filter, fuel pump, catalytic converter, mapping censor, alarm removed, new coil pack and a whole lot of other stuff I can't remember right now and it's still doing the same thing. I think every censor in the car has been changed. The diagnostic machine keeps saying it's the fuel pump. But it's pumping plenty of gas. I keep saying it's the fuel injectors but every machanic I take it to keeps telling me it's not because it's not missing what ever that means. Now I don't know if I doing this right or not but if this is not the right place for this message I apologize in advance. If it is PLEASE HELP. Single mom of 3 I can't aford a new car

Re: This is my 1st time doing this
has anyone done a fuel pressure test to see what the fuel pressure is whe3n it won't start? Just because fuel sprays out the schrader valve, doesn't mean there is enough pressure there to fire the injectors properly.

Re: This is my 1st time doing this
sounds like a big guessing game with the shops.did ANY1 check M.A.S.i believe they used them in 89.its a big (hand size)plastic sensor.its mounted inline with the air intake hose.start the car & tap/hit it with rubber hammer,block/piece of wood.if the engine changes speed or stumbles sensor is bad. good luck & let us know

Re: This is my 1st time doing this
Random dying is normally caused by three things in your type of car: a bad ECM, crank sensor or injector. When it dies you need to test for spark and injector pulse. No spark could be caused by a bad crank sensor or bad ECM. No injector pulse could be caused by a bad injector or ECM. The crank sensor tells the ECM when to fire the coils. The injectors used in your car, when they dead short, will cause a loss of injector pulse. You best bet is to have them ohm spec each injector and see if any are way out of spec from the rest. If yes, then replace the off injector. IF the injectors resistance is relatively equal, and you have no injector pulse, I'd say its a bad ECM.
