CKS or camshaft sensor needed (2000 Intrigue)
Hello -
It may be time I replace a sensor (or two) on my 2000 Intrigue. I have seen a P0018 (crankshaft / camshaft correlation bank 2 sensor A) DTC, and the engine occaisionally (but rarely) just quits while idling or running down the highway. The rest of the time it runs great. Question 1: any educated guess on crankshaft vs camshaft sensor? I may do both, since camshaft is apparently easy, but I like knowledge over shotgun, when possible. Question 2: General question about brands: Rockauto shows 3 or 4 brands of each of these. Take the CPS: Airtex, Standard, ACDelco, and Delphi, prices from $43 to $84. They must all work, but would any of you experts know from experience whether one brand is consistently better? Any brand to avoid? I'm much more interested in quality and performance than in penny-pinching. But if a lower cost is just as good, in your experience, it would be good to know that. Rockauto certainly made it easy to find the parts I wanted. Don't know if that is a recent site upgrade, but it sure works slick. Thanks for any info.

I did the standard motor products 2 years ago and they're still working fine.
Although i thought the price difference between standard and ac delco was bigger. They may have raised prices since i bought.

Yes, I did. All the issues back then just disappeared for a year. Now they appear to be back. Maybe I can fix it for good. I will probably replace both CKS and CPS. Any opinions on brands to get from Rockauto? That was my original question. Thanks.

I would fix the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor first then wait. Lot's of crappy parts out there +it takes at least an hour to swap out the sensor = Buy GM for parts.
These GM parts get upgraded over time also + I just don't trust the other brands. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ghlight=sensor
