They ship by weight Fullblood, so you need to calculate the total weight of your package, then find the shipping cost per weight off their shipping info page and calculate the total shipping cost by multiplying one by the other.
BTW, they do explain this on their site too. Ray

im not real good with grams and kilograms, IM USED TO THE AMERICAN WAY, but ive calculated that my entire shipping weight should be somewhere around 3,073g, can some one convert this into kilos? or just find out my HLJ shipping total for me?:flash:

The beauty of not using the AMERICAN WAY is that it's very simple.
3,073g = 3.073 Kilos |

Remember to add the weight of the packaging as well.
If the total weight is a bit over 3 kilograms then you'd be better having the shipment split into two. Anything under 2 kg is 2000 odd yen to ship "Small Parcel". Once things go above 2kg then the price jumps to about 5000 yen! I know because I recently ordered some stuff from Hobby Search and the total weight came out to 2kg and 60 grams! I reckon about half of that weight was packaging because the dopes actually used two packing boxes, one inside each other. Made for a strong package but cost me an extra 3000 yen in shipping ![]() Phil |

HLJ uses UPS, which through a special rate costs about 1280 yen/kg.

In this page: http://www.post.yusei.go.jp/p_guide_2001/index.htm Option <1> is small packet air mail, and option <5> is SAL. Also, check option <3> EMS, because up to 2 kg, sometimes EMS is cheaper, yet it's much faster than SAL. And sorry about the extra 60 g. It would have been less than 2 kg, if packed more carefully. |

too many yens and grams, how much did it cost to ship one of your previous orders to the US? I'm interested in 4-5 kits(1/24 cars, 1/48 aircrafts) from HLJ, but I'm hesitant on ordering because of the cost of shipping. They did mentioned that multiple items will be cheaper, but what if they chuck'em in a heavy box? Should finish a few more b4 I buy any new kits anyways, the GF is starting to think I have a problem.
