Racing steering wheel concerns

I want to get a racing wheel for my Civic. My question is: if I have racing seats, harnesses, and harness bar will it matter that I dont have a steering wheel with an airbag? I assume it doesnt since racecars don't. I would imagine a car equipped with these parts is much safer to drive in. Thanks in advance.

Re: Racing steering wheel concerns

Is it being used for actual racing?
Anyway, its my understanding that you need an additional kit to install racing steering wheels in to cars. These kits can't be used if you have an airbag, so you should be all right.

Re: Racing steering wheel concerns

Yeah eventually the car will see track action. Just not anytime soon. Im building it slowly (lack of money) I just thought that if I were strapped in with an appropriate harness then I wouldnt really need an airbag. The car will eventually get a roll cage also.

Re: Racing steering wheel concerns

As long as its easy to unbuckle the harnesses in the event of a crash. That would be my only concern in a setup like that.
