Question 01 Malibu rough idle!!!

My car began to run hot around May 07, took it to the Napa Auto Care in June 07 for repairing intake manifold. I have had the intake manifold changed twice within a month of each other, I have had the water pump replaced and just recently had the head gasket replaced and pressure checked and shaved the heads down. The car no longer runs hot but has a rough idle and the check engine light is on. Please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! I have spent $3000 on this car in the last couple of months, its not worth it anymore, still paying a car note

Re: 01 Malibu rough idle!!!

You may have a vacuum leak. Pull the trouble codes. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

Yep, start by getting the code(s) read and post them here. The only parts store in my area that will do this for free is Autozone. I've never heard of the intake manifold needing to be replaced on a GM 3.1L, only intake manifold gaskets. That's very common and most shops are very proficient in replacing the IMG's.
