Oil Gauge Acting Weird
I have a 1988 Cavalier Wagon with a 2.0 Liter 4-cyl. Yesterday (12 Sep), when I started my car, the needle in the oil pressure gauge pointed straight up, past the "80" mark. Eventually, it did go down to its normal level, but this just worries me. This is the first time that this has happened and I am hoping that it isn't something that needs to be replaced. The car doesn't show any signs of breaking down and isn't making any strange or abnormal sounds. Also, I should note that this car only has roughly 65,500 miles on it.

Re: Oil Gauge Acting Weird
The oil sending unit might be going bad. Put a manual guage on just to make sure there are no problems with the pump. Then replace the sending unit.
