Battery posts & radio...

Hello guys... I have a question concerning my battery.... since iv never disconnected the posts but i did apply some grease around them... Id like to know if I disconnect it so I can clean the posts real good and get the contact cleaned up before the cold long winter... Will my radio get losdt if i do this..?? I mean will it work again... I know I have the original radio in there with CD, casette etc... the radio is IMO an amazing radio put in the car by GM.. I cant complain at all with the sound.. I think its a Bose.. not sure tho.. But yeah will it work again if i disconnect the posts, ro will i need a special code to get it to work again...?? If so how do I proceed..??
