engine missfire??????
hey guys. i have an 02 s10. 4.3l vortec. and i notice that esp. if i try to accl fast or above 70mph the check engine lite will flash a couple of time then go off. . from wat i have read i am guessing it a missfire? can someone verify this and tell me wat i can do to help prevent them in the future.? thanks for your help.

If the SES light flashed but is not on now, the code(s) will be stored in memory. Advance Auto and Autozone will retrieve codes for free. Have them scan it, write down the codes that are in memory and post them here.

A flashing engine light points to a misfire or engine miss.
As Old master said there should be a strored code or a good scanner will read out what cylinder is missing and how many times it is missing. Several things can cause a misfire. The codes help narrow down the problem How many miles on the tune up and plugs?

ok thanks so much guys. i am going today to get the codes read. i am not sure i bought the truck at over a hundred thousand miles and it has not been tuned up since. so i will prob take care of that this weedend. again thanks for the help.
