I also want to know!!

I glad you asked this question! I saw one of the "euro" style plates on the front of a 328ci last week and I've wanted to know where they got it. I also have a few other questions. Like is it 50-state legal to put a european plate in the front and a regular plate in the back?
I know in Massachusetts you have to have both front and back plates, but only the back plate has the registration sticker. Also, is there different plate brackets taht you need to mount it?

I've tried looking briefly on the web about this but I couldn't find anything. Any information would be very helpful!

Thanks

I got my european plate from customliscenceplates.com.(tell them J0N922 sent you):smoker2: They are legal in any state that you arent required to have a state tag on the front, just like any other front plate. But trust me that site is the best i've seen, and has the best price. As for a bracket, you can either order a bracket with the plate for 10 bucks or drill the holes yourself. I didnt bother getting the bracket since they dont even use them often in Germany anyways. What i had to do is put a few washers for the plate to go outside the American space for a tag. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Massachusetts RMV web page a little more closely and it appears that since it requires motorists to use both the front and back plate (the ones issued by the RMV), it would not be legal to use a euro-style plate in the front.

If anyone knows the law governing the whole front plate thing, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I mean... everyone knows the car is not american.... why have yet another licence plate on it.... I finally moved to georgia (from Virginia) and celebrated the day I got to take that fucking plate off the front.

Re: bmw liscence plates

Some people use the European plate for shows and what not. I would not run one as the law will get you.

www.europeanplates.com has the best prices.
