window

yea i tried getting sum info from gagt.com but yet again they're assholes so ill try here my problem is my window wont roll down like i hear the regulator like powering but the window wont go down. i removed my door panel and the black piece thats ontop of the panel and next to the window the long black piece( not sure wat its called) but i removed that and tried it and the window went down and i noticed on the left where the metla round squarish piece is connected to the sash where the bolt is the whole sash is broke so i went to the dealership to pick a new sash up i havent tried replacing it yet but i just want to know if this is the problem, so i wont have to do it all and realize it was something else

I've heard of all sorts of crazy stuff happening with GA and Alero windows, at least on the 2 doors.

On mine, the drivers side window has some nasty scrapes on the glass and at sometimes you can hear scratchy noises as it's going up or down.

A friend of mine had the driver's side window in his Alero lock up like yours and then if I remember correctly, it shattered.

**edit** of course, my memory could be completely wrong on that last part...

not sure of your exact problem but on my '99 the peice that grips the window just up and broke. The dealer was very familiar with this part and had one handy. I try not to slam the door closed with the window half or all the way down as I believe this may contribute to it breaking things.

Slammin the doors, not good on N bodies

Jmoney, I'm not sure either what you are talking about, but here's a link with our GA's window disassembly for replacing the regulator. Might help....

well i removed my window after work today, to realize both plastic clips were broke and the dealership was closed i got the back one on gotta get the front on tomorrow. seems confident enough that was the problem thanx for the input guys
