2004 GT2, read through the forums, not seeing anything like my issue. I feel a popping sensation in the wheel when I turn it either direction. It's not something you'd feel when passing someone on the highway, but more or less when taking every day turns. It happens when the car is hot or cold, doesn't change after a period of time, always consistent. I am running 18" wheels w/ 18/45/245s, stock everything else in terms of suspension/strut braces, etc.
The problem is really noticeable after 4 months of having the wheels on (the car is 2nd hand, only had it 7 months), but it wasn't there when I first got it in the harsh winter. To give a better description, it feels like my steering is under pressure, kind of like a spring is getting really wound up, it gives out a little, and then again and again. It's also has a hollow noise, sounds like it's coming from under the car, not the wheel itself since it's a deep pop. I had my car inspected at an alignment shop a week ago, he said everything is tight, nothing is off with the wheels/balancing. I'm just wondering if my struts are toast, or maybe the strut braces, or even the power steering pump. The fluid level is good, but I am running low on ideas.
Sorry to go on and on, I appreciate any feedback! I'm leaning on buying some of the aftermarket strut braces to help out. I am also considering new springs (1-1.4inch drop f/r) and struts (KYB GR2s).
BTW, car has 126,000KMs on it. New rims, new tires... I had a whining noise from power steering when car was bought, that pump was replaced and issue stopped. I am not sure if it was a refurb/scrap yard pull (they probably use dthe cheapest option to get me on my merry way).
Thanks guys!
