2000 Explorer - Problem w/Power Windows

Recently I have had some problems with my side power windows (all four of them). Sometimes they work, and sometimes they do not - with the trend being towards not working more and more often. When the windows do not work - they either all work or they all do not work (so not a motor problem). My real problem is that one of the windows is now stuck in the all the way down position and will not move back up.

Is there anyone who might know how to fix this problem?

Thank you

Re: 2000 Explorer - Problem w/Power Windows

Welcome to the forum!

There is a wiring bundle in the driver's door jamb that has a tendency to break wires. To determine if this is the problem, you could check for voltage to the power window switch and trace backwards until you find the break, or start by opening up the junction and inspecting for broken wires.

I suppose you could also verify the fuses for the power windows are in securely along with the circuit breaker, but the intermittant nature seems more likely a broken wire.
