does anyone have an actual 0-60 time for a 3kgt base/SL (222hp)

I have been trying to find this for a very long time and i can't seem to get a good number. I have been using online Calculators and such to determine about what it should be. I want to know how my car is running compared to how it should be running -- thanks.

Check this out...It does give a time for a 91 sl

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

You can also try

http://www.dragtimes.com/

but most of them are modded cars...

What I love about that site is all the different times they have for the different year VR-4s . . . . all the 1st gens have the same engine, boost levels, set up, etc. and all the 2nd gens are the same, yet they have different times for each of them. Either their predictions are screwed up or they really have an inconsistant driver. And obviously their driver doesn't know how to launch an AWD car.

Re: does anyone have an actual 0-60 time for a 3kgt base/SL (222hp)

yea -- i have seen both of those websites before. thi website (the FAQs) says the SOHC (161 hp) 3kgt's do about an 8.5 sec 0-60. So I would imagine that the 222hp DOHC's could do a bit better than that. Also if you plug in some of the 1/8 mile times and 1/8 speed traps from the dragtimes website into a 0-60 calculator you get a much faster time than 8.5. Anyone have any personal times or anything for a DOHC N/A 3000gt?

You know when I started to reply to the thread yesterday the numbers 15.6 came straight into my head from my days at the track .. I want to say 6.8/7-0 0-60....But of course that is just my B.S. ...Whats that worth to you !!!!....Exactly, not much... haha!!! But I did a little more snooping as my curiosity was up as well and did find this forum thread ...Check it out...Hope it helps!!!

Yeah I totally agree they are a bit confusing to say the least, but you can really see who launched the car and who didnt...Edmunds has a review for the 99 vr4 and they got a 14-0 and I am firm that I can personally get a better time than they did and Im a buck eighty ....Must be one big driver in that thing on a full tank haha!!!...It really does make you wonder how they test these cars...Dead stop,no RPM's on the engine to redline and shift or what...!!! Either way most of those times seem off a bit....
The fastest time I ever got in my 97 was a 13.65 at 99.85.. I ran her at least 30-40 times over two seasons but she always ran 13.70's to 13.80's no matter what the weather ...

It's somewhere around 6-7 seconds. I used to swear up and down that I could do 0-60 in 6 seconds flat in my SL. Anyway you look at it, it's slow and doesn't really matter.

Re: does anyone have an actual 0-60 time for a 3kgt base/SL (222hp)

Id love to know my 0-60. Ive got the power and the traps for ~15.2. Ran 15.5 end of May with no traction and bad wheel hop. Wheel hop did me in and busted the trans.

I probly would have seen the 15.2 last Friday if I hadnt rocketed ANOTHER trans.

Yeah all this in a SOHC.

I wouldn't say that 6-7 is slow. Its not sports car fast by anymeans today in comparison, but considering these cars are from the early 90's that is not bad at all. However, I doubt that a stock 3kgt DOHC N/A could do a 6 second 0-60.

Anyways, from what I have heard so far is 0-60 times in the low 7's for a stock DOHC N/A 3000gt. Do you agree that would be a reasonable time?

Well, I was wondering how far away my car was from being in decent condition because I am not getting close to low 7's at all. I have never been to the track or anything with my car, but from my unscientific (read: using a stopwatch) 0-60 timing of myself, I can only seem to get mid-to-high 8's.
So, I wasn't sure if it was just that the car isn't that fast or that I just suck at driving.
Actually, it is probably because my car really needs new front tires, and the spark plugs really need to be replaced... at least I hope. I know that a 7 second 0-60 is by no means fast... but it is fast enough to satisfy me for now considering it would be over a full second faster than I am getting now, and I only paid $1000 for my car. Anyways, keep some more times coming if you can so that I have more to go with here. Thanks everyone.

Well is your car automatic? If so that explains the slow 0-60

Preachin to the preacher, I used to defend N/A's all day lol. I doubt it could do 0-60 in 6 seconds flat, but I still think it's under 7.
