wood color paint?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to paint an interior of a car in a "wood grain" colour. Know anything that i can use to get that affect?

Thanks

Re: wood color paint?

The way I've done woodgrain before is to paint a layer of Tamiya "flat earth" and drybrushed some "buff" over the top (You don't have to use Tamiya paints, any medium brown/light brown will work, those are simply what I chose). It looks OK, but I'm sure there are other ways of doing it.

Re: wood color paint?

yup, or in general, one lighter colour, and dry brush the darker colour on top. I did the wood grain on these:

Using Testors flat interior tan, and then drybrushed Humbrol rust brown over top.

you dip the brush in the paint, then wipe most of it off on a piece of paper or something, so that you're left with a small amount of dry/tacky paint on the brush.
