i am having a couple problems with the radio on my 2000

1. display quit working
2. randomly goes into scan mode
3. when i put a cd in it wont accept it, it will click a bunch of times and then eject it.
4. randomly switches modes...if im in CD it might randomly go to TAPE or FM/AM or vice versa.

Re: radio problems on 2000

I had similar problems with my stock head unit on my 2000 Mountaineer as well. All the Ford head units at local junk yards had already been taken out, and it was going to cost more to buy one from Ford than it was for an aftermarket. So I just bought an Alpine head unit, and haven't had to deal with random problems like that since. My advice just get another head unit, they are like $50 bucks for a really nice one.
