04 Z-71 Tires
When I bought my 04 Reg Cab z-71 Silverado, it had the stock 17"rims with 285/70(or possibly 75??) BFG All-Terrains. But, the previous owner had cranked the torsion bars almost all the way so the front was level. The ride quality was horrible and I knew that doing that is no good for the front end so I lowered the front back down to stock but also put on a set of 20" wheels with a smaller tire. I am getting ready to put the All-Terrains back on but I wanted to make sure they will not rub with the front back down to stock level. If anything, I would get the torsion keys to level out the front but I was going to try to not do that if it is not needed. Thanks for the help.

you mean your putting the stock rims/tires back on? they wont rub if you got the bars back to stock location

Well they are the stock rims but the tires are aftermarket and larger than what comes stock. I was under the impression that having the front end at stock level was going to make this larger size tire rub? I am not sure because the only time that those tires were on the truck was when the front end was higher than what is the stock setting.

you shouldnt rub to bad with stock wheels and only a 285, nothing a little trimming wont fix

32" tire is about as tall as you can go on a stock lift without modification.
285 is about as wide as you can go before it starts to rub on the turns.

Cranking the torsion bars is not always a bad thing. That is how ride height is established. But if you start messing with them, your alignment angles change. I raised the front on my 03 because it didn't sit level by using the torsion bars but it was sitting on an alignment rack when I did it. Since you had yours up and now back down you may want to get that checked.

When I dropped the front back down to stock, I immediately went for an alignment. It looked like the wheels were cutting the pavement because of the change and also because the 20" wheels I put on were wider than the stock wheels. But thanks for looking out.
