ABS brake problems

My ford F-250 (ABS) light is on and it will not shut off. I replaced the front and back brakes, and it will not let me shift into drive or even move out of park. Any ideas on how to fix this?

P.S.
I also left the battery disconnected over night and while a changed the brakes but it is still the same way.

I could be wrong cuz I'm new to Ford, and if I am I apologize. But changing the brake pads has nothing to do with the ABS sensor. The ABS sensor should be found within the hub\bearing assembly in the front two hubs. It's connected via a wire coming from the hub. Check the wire for damage or disconnection. The sensor inside the hub may be bad. Either way it shouldn't stop you from being about to put it into D, I don't think there's an ABS system out there that would lock the column just because of a faulty (and stupid) ABS system. Most shifter interlocks are operated by a solenoid or similar actuator that clicks when you depress the brake. Maybe that has failed or the switch in the brake pedal itself to the interlock system has failed. A year of the truck would help too.
