help

my 91 CRX SI was recently in for altenator work. Upon entering the freeway on a slight incline the car had trouble accelorating. Gears shifted normally but didn't pick up speed. RPMs seemed to rev and stick between 3 and 4. Seemed as though the timing was off or a sensor was misfiring.

Suggestions welcome

Re: help

Look under the carpet in the passenger foot well and count the blinking red lights if there are any.

Re: help

thanks! took it immediately back to the shop I had work done at so I'm not in possession of the vehicle.

was seeking info in hopes that they won't rip me off. Can this be costly? or might an adjustment be good enough

Re: help

one other question. what would happen if the belt near the alternator wasn't reinstalled properly would it cause poor performance in the vehicle?

Re: help

I would say its very doubtful the alternator belt would be the problem. You would see the battery light come on before the engine acted up. They may have loosened a wire or shorted something electrical.
