Cruise could cause fire?

Anyone knows the specifics of this recent recall im very interested.

Guy who owned the Car before Traveled alot and probably used the cruise.

If it could cause a fire and is elecrical then the feed wires are going to heat with the increased current drawn.

If this is connected into the PCM and has been drawing too much juice but not enough to start a fire , Then hasnt the PCM been exposed to more heat than it should have been?

How durable has the PCM been on 94 Town Cars?

Have there been many instances where major components
like Moonroofs and A/C Compressors not working because of the PCM?
I know the alternator I justed changed wasnt very old do they fail
very often?

PCM sensing the draw and running the tail off the alternator. I know that thing runs real hot and the year after they went to 130 amp
alternator from a 95 amp in 94. They also made brushes available for my year

Got some unknow draw so just give it more juice.

Im more interesred in finding out more about this. Im gonna wait for the class action and hold out for a free service manual cd.

Thanks and Good Luck

I thought the gettin grezzy was the upside to the self service thing
but I get kicks outta the diagnosis end too.

Re: Cruise could cause fire?

Yes I would like to find out more about this recall, since I plan to do the repairs my self. All my leter said is that the part was a fused wiring harness. If it's fusable link that will be easy to install. I will try to get the TSB on this and post it if I can.
