How to tell if used z28 came with speed rated tires
I am in the market for a 2002 z28, I want to make sure the one I buy came from the factory with speed rated tires. I would hate to get one that is governed at 108 mph. Thanks

just get a hypertech or some other tuner.. 100-200 bucks, can take the speed limiter off..
im not really sure what RPO code it has tho, sorry..

I guess the best bet is take the vin to a dealer and let them tell me, I would not want to drop more $$$$ if I did not have too..

All Z-28's & Trans Am's should have come with speed rated tires. These were the highest performance versions of the F bodies.
Where you run into pronlems are the Formulas, RS's and lower base models of the Camaro & Firebird.

Well, some of the LT1 f-bods came with speed-rated tires...but it can easily be tuned out. Don't know about the LS1's though.

You know I hate to be a shithead, BUT...
If you're going to try to buy a Camaro and keep it CHEAP... you're out of your mind. Especially if you're going to buy one of the high performance models. As long as the thing has the options you want you should be good to go. AND figure on spending another 10-20% of the purchase price on fixing stuff you didn't know needed to be fixed. My 2¢. As a hobby, cars are expensive, and Camaros are no exception.
