Overseas Shipping Question

Hi guys I am hoping to get some advice on the subject. I recently purchased a kit on ebay that was in China, Beijing if I remember correctly. I bought it a little over 2 weeks ago. I paid for US airmail ( 1-2 weeks worldwide). The seller shipped the kit a Wednesday, so its been 2 weeks and 3 days since he shipped it. Now I thought the US airmail would have it to me by no later than 2 weeks. I usually don't purchase things overseas so I get a little uneasy about this kind of thing. Should I be concerned by now, or does this typically happen? Do customs check hold items for a few days before sending them out again? Do you think I'll have much longer to wait?

Thanks

Re: Overseas Shipping Question

Don't be concerned - customs won't hold it if it's labelled correctly by the shipper.

Give it at most another 2 weeks.

Re: Overseas Shipping Question

Shipping stuff out of Mainland China doesn't usually have any problems. But like freakray said, give it an extra 2 weeks. Some parts of China have poeple that work reaaal slow.
Where ever you order from, it normally takes a few days on both ends to 'handle' the package. So even a week or two over the ETA is quite normal.

Re: Overseas Shipping Question

I'm just like you when buying from shops from other countries. Just 2 weeks ago I bought from a shop in Hong Kong and recieved it last week. I paid a few more dollars to be able to track my package because, like yourself, I feel uneasy about it. Customs had it for one day and I was shocked when the post office was at my place the following day with my package. I've bought from the internet before and sometimes they say the package will arrive in, for example, 12 to 14 days. I see it as 2 weeks but when the two weeks are here and gone I start to get annoyed. My friend explained that they usually mean 12 to 14 business days which dont include the weekend days and holidays. Try to see it that way and give it a little more time.
