Exclamation 302 efi wont start unless throttle is moved

It all started with the engine died and I tried some things and lifted the heads and the oil pan off, and everything looks allright, put it all together again and it started and ran for 30sec and died.

Only starts if I move the throttle(give it some gas) but runs badly, sounds like wrong mixture to me when listening to it.

This is what Ive tried:
new Ignition coil
new Distributor and tfi module
new Sparkpluggs and cables
new fuel pressure regulator
New Gaskets(head, intake, waterpump, timingcover etc, etc)
Compression is good
timing seems alright

Soo, what could couse this?
Map sensor? bad fuelpump?

Re: 302 efi wont start unless throttle is moved

I would start by checking the computer ground Since you didn't give the year I would think it is in the kick panel on the Pass. side. You have a relay for the computer system next to the computer. I have removed the relay made a jumper and jumped across the two large terminals for a test. A plugged fuel filter will cause a no start. The relay for the fuel pump is usually close to the trunk hinge.
These vehicles normally have two fuel pumps a primer pump in the tank. The other fuel pump is along the frame by the fuel filter. I cleaned the fuel injectors on my t-bird with a 302. This made a hugh difference.
The battery ground was loose on my T-bird.
Ford had a recall on the ignition switch for my T-bird but I had already replaced it. I was only getting 8 volts to the module.

Re: 302 efi wont start unless throttle is moved

Sorry, it´s a 1993 HO Efi. And its a marine engine, but you seem too know these engines...

I´ve check all ground terminals.
I´ve checked the fuelfilter.
Yes it has two fuel pumps, one low pressure and one high pressure

And the engine is mounted outside the boat..

But i Know where the eec relay and Fuelpump relay is, soo I´m gonna check that today

If these check out they have a schrader valve around the throttle body I would check the pressure. Vacuum leaks around the intake cause problems spray along the intake edges and throttle body base with carb cleaner.

Re: 302 efi wont start unless throttle is moved##SOLVED##

Well, I´ve checked the relays and found nothing soo I checked the timing with a strobe light and it was waaaaay of(abot 30deg).
I guess my rufley setting wasent near right...runaround
Setted it for about 10deg btdc couse in sweden the worst quality of petrol is 95 octane, soo I guess that solved it!

But thanks anyway!!!
