Removing chrome plating.

What is the easiest way to remove chrome which is plated onto plastic (ABS)?

Some of it has started to peel and looks just awful. I'd like to remove the rest without damaging the plastic underneath too much. Any ideas?

Re: Removing chrome plating.

Peel or sand lightly to remove the shine and feather the peeled edges. You may want to prime with an appropriate paint and sand again. Paint any color you like.
