highway run...

I was heading over to chill with my sister earlier and had the cruise control set at 70. I really wasnt thinking of much except I wanted to get there and get back home before it rained. I had just washed my car.

I didnt realize it but I was being paced by what I thought was a Subaru of sorts. About that time he gives it enough gas to just get in front of me and I was right it was a Subaru Forester XT w/ at least exhaust. We paced each other for the next 5-6 miles and we get an opening with nothing ahead but straight highway. I had my heads up display on and was holding steady as 65mph. I hear him downshifting and put it to the floor. I put about 1-2 cars on him and held him like that until about 95 he was starting to inch up on me and by 112 he was blowing by me with extreme ease. I even checked to see if I had let up or something the way he pulled me top end.

I hope to get a little better top end as of tomorrow since I will be installing the 2.5" d/p in my sig.

You got owned by a 4cyl SUV at 100+ mph. That is just priceless. Did you hit a governor or something?

My governer has been lifted so no I didnt hit the limiter. That SUV weighs less than my car does so yeah I guess it is priceless.....Like I said he pulled real hard...

Re: highway run...

I test drove one before I bought my car. It feels like driving a tall, slightly tipsy WRX. What is the top speed on your car? I guess the aerodynamics of the Forester must not be too bad.

Re: highway run...

Well if I'm not mistaken I think the car shuts off at 126 governed. Yeah, I think I read that the Forester is 3100 lbs and my car is 3400. I dont mind loosing, it was a fast vehical SUV or not. I found this a long time ago when I had my Jeep and I wanted to go fast in an SUV...

Mercedes ML63 AMG 6.2 V8 4.6 0-60 13.1 @ 109.050 Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2007 4.5 V8 T 4.7 0-60 13.2 @ 108.049 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 6.1 V8 4.5 0-60 13.2 @ 104.042 Mercedes G55 AMG 5.5 V8 S 4.7 0-60 13.2 @ 103.246 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 4.5 V8 T 4.9 0-60 13.5 @ 107.052 Subaru Forester 2.5XT Turbo 2.5 F4 T 5.3 0-60 13.8 @ 97.02853053289

I cant find this spec info online any where so I assume this is a modded one but fast none the less. I wonder what kind of set-up it has to get these numbers..

Re: highway run...

That was the stock 0-60, but the quarter is in the mid to low 14s. I always had a hard time believing this thing was faster than the WRX to 60 Idk though.
