Brake trouble

So i recently replaced the brakes on a 90 camry and all went fine until i took it for a short drive. When i arrived back home i can smell the brakes and everything is really hot. So i figured out the problem is the outside pad on each front tire is rubbing the disk. After it cooled and i could take a look at it i noticed the metal sleeve around the bolt on the calipers is seized up not allowing it to slide freely which is causing the rub. Was wondering the best ways to free the sleeves up without causing damage to the caliper. I dont mind damaging the pins because i can replace those for cheap but if i can get away without damging them all the better.

Re: Brake trouble

Welcome to the AF!

The best way to remove them is to bring the calipers to a machine shop and have them pressed out. You may be able to do it in a vise if you have one large enough and the proper size insert to press out the bushings. As a last resort, you can punch them out with a hammer and punch.

After you remove the bushings (sleeves) from the calipers, grease them with lithium soap base glycol grease. Buy new bushings if they are scored.
