A Question from a New Guy.....

Well this is my first post here, have been reading for a bit but never posted. I have a few models I'm working on now and can't wait to share. Tamiya 94 Escort Cosworth 4x4 Monte Carlo, Tamiya Repsol Escort Cosworth, 2001 WRC Ford Focus and a Fujimi AE86.

My question was has anyone found a detailed HUMMER kit? Not the Snap Tight but a nicely detail scale model? Also maybe a Ford Puma or Mondeo? Just wondering since alot of you guys have obviously been into models for awhile.

here you go tampa guy, there is a few of them on ebay, but i think they are all millitary hummers, you might be able to customize.

i am from tampa originally, but am now stationed in the panhandle(im in the airforce) i got into models after i left home, so i dont really know of any good hobby shops there, do you know of any good ones? if so, im me, or post em here, because i am going home next montha and wanna check some places out.

Online now!
Thanks (this post)

I appreciate the link.

As for local shops, I would say:

Hobbytown USA
Highway 60 in Brandon right across from the Brandon Mall
(Carry a nice selection of Tamiya, Revell etc.)

Franks Trains and Hobbies
Hillsborough Avenue.
(Same as Hobbytown Tamiya, Revell etc.)

Those are the two I usually hit up.
Nothing special about them but usually between the two I can find anything I need.

Don't dismiss the Snap kit outright just because it's a snap kit... Built up nice, they can look just as good as anything else. My LHS has one built on a little sandy-desert display base, and it looks really cool.
