Questions on a car I found.

The other day while I was on my lunch break I drove past
a car lot and noticed an old 1st gen Rx-7 sitting out front.
So I stopped by and asked him about it and he told me
that he wanted $1500 for it.All it needs is a front end allignment
well I didnt have time to crank it up and check everything out
but here are some things that I noticed.Its an 88 model Gs Rx-7
Automatic Tranny everything in the car is still original.So would
I be better off getting rid of my ragidy ole eclipse and getting
the infamous rx-7 with the 12a rotary engine?or would it be a
project that I would have to fix all the damn time like my Dsm?

From what I hear the 12a's were pretty reliable. My buddy has two 1g RX7's, one 12a and one 13b. The 12a has had more stuff go wrong with it, but I blame his lack of diagnostic skills and the previous owner for them. His 13b RX7 has been a good car so far, no problems at all... but he does drive it pretty good.

I smell BS !! remember its old car, no one sell car that are good ( accept the dealer ). thinking to yourself " why are you selling your eclipse ? because its had problem right ? same as other people man. They sell it because its had problem. I be better keep your eclipse than that POS.

I like the rx-7s. But if it has had a bad owner, it could have some problems. electrical issues are huge i hear.

my friend has that exact same one and basically he is looking to sell it. I think they came with 165 horse stock don't quote me on it though. He has had quite a few problems with it could just be the car but you know what your getting into.

Yeah perhaps you are right Killa it happened to me when I started buying my
1st gen eclipse.I needed a car really bad and it caught my eye and the dude was like OH YEAH HERE YA GO ITS ONLY $3500 bucks.Well I test drove it and it ran perfect and it only had 95k miles on it,until about a $1000 worth of payments later.It began smoking really bad and using so much oil that I literally have to put a quart or two of oil every 4-5 days.The tire rob end is coming loose and it shakes really bad.The check engine light popped on and the damn thing wont hardly start after its been sitting for a long period of time.Egr or Somthing Perhaps?I owe 900 bucks on the car now and my brother recently came the owner of a 91 Eclipse Gs(the first Dsm I ever had but ended up selling it...Long story..anways). just like mine that runs great.He is going to do a 4g63 swap on it so he said he will let me get the 4g37 motor for nothing at all.I wish I would have better car luck but thats just my problem I do not.No one wants to help a 19 yr old and the worst part is I have baby and a wife in college.DAMN THIS GOVERNMENTAL IDOCRICY!..sorry had to vent.I have found out this one little detail about buying a used car now.Run the shit out of it when your test driving it and make sure everything is freaking working before you buy it.

The car is miss fire, and I found their is alot oil on spark plug tip, so it mean I have bad ring, car run like shit, so im saving up money for 5.0L stroke kit now.

It might not be the rings killa. You might want to check more into the problem before you spend that much money rebuilding it.

Damn that sucks killa...you may have a stopped up preassure control valve.
