How to get 300 horsepower out of a 240 without it blowing

I was wondering is it possible to achieve 300hp in a 240 (89) without the engine blowing. If it is what would have to be done to make it that way? Also, if 300 isn't possible what is the highest possible? Also, I won't use NOS so i need real mods. Thanks

Tons of stickers, my car has millions and its running 1000 whp...... jk

Really need more info thoe, are you talking about the singe cam u have in there or a swap? Im pretty sure its gonna be hard to get 300 out of the single cam with not alot of money. So maby swap to the Ka24de? or SR? I just really don't know your options so just be more detailed.

Re: How to get 300 horsepower out of a 240 without it blowing

turbo manifold
turbo
wastegate
3" downpipe
intercooler
MAF
boost controller
injectors
BOV
lines/fitting/intercooling plumbing
intake
SAFC at the least for tune
Dyno time
3" test pipe
3" catback
300whp is easily achievable

I wouldn't go that much more without lower compression ratio forged pistons, with those you can go 350-400whp, then you probably need some better rods... with those you can go 400-500whp pretty soundly if your tune is good and your setup is decent

count of a few thousand bucks at the bare minimum

SR20-DET engine
T4 Turbo will do the trick
K&N Cold Air Intake
MAF Sensor
Brembo Brakes to handle the speed
New Springs
New tires to grip to the road better
Turbo Timer
Boost Controller
Air-Fuel Ratio
etc. etc. etc.

I'll get back with you when I take a look inside my engine bay again. probably around wednesday or thursday.

this post boggles my mind. Why would you have to check your engine bay to see what he would need for 300hp? brakes, springs and tires do not add hp or make the engine handle that power. Those are totally different aspects of the car.

can a single cam ka make 300hp yes. Aslong as the engine is in good condition. Your tune must be very good. FLA240 has a pretty decent list, only thing i would add is a wideband o2 sensor for the tune that is.

Re: How to get 300 horsepower out of a 240 without it blowing

Step one: Buy a SR20DET

Step two: Buy a front mount intercooler kit

Step three: Buy a GT2871R and fitting kit

Step four: Buy an engine management system (AEM)

Step five: tune to your likings

you seem like you have the money. swap the engine please. 240's are blessed in the way that they can hold many different variety of engines. pick one...

Re: How to get 300 horsepower out of a 240 without it blowing

300hp with stock motor-

check compression, leakdown test the engine, then get a turbo.

replace the head gasket, radiator, exhaust, injectors, fuel pump, make sure the pressure regulator is working, get all the turbo accessories(manifold, BOV, piping, intercooler, ect) get a better clutch, change the transmission oil, get a a/f controller and boost controller, get as big a book on how to use these last two items and memorize it. then do a tune up and tune using stock wastegate pressure. then if it runs good, tune for more power from there. slowly. then when you hit 300whp, take the naaawwwwzzzzz bottle and start inhaling. hey id celebrate if i hit 300hp with a SOHC 240.
