ok i have a 3800 series 96 firebird w/ a 4L60E so far pretty stock. random little things. i am just doing basic bolt ons for now. next march i will begin w/ the stroke bore rebuild and twin turbos... i plan on some headers w/ y pipe high flow cat and some magnaflow (eventually i will go w/ custom true duals) , custom cold-air intake and a programmer. anyone got any other ideas for me?

Yeah...
with all than new power, you'll need a rebuilt/new tranny to take all the power, a fortified rear, and suspension stuff to get it all to the ground. Plus, with all the new parts, you won't want a crappy hand-held programmer, you'll need a custom dyno tune.
Uh...you didn't mention it, so I won't assume anything, but you'll need new heads and maybe a turbo cam with stronger valvetrain.
And obviously, you'll want to stuff the motor with forged goodies when you take it apart to bore and stroke it. Good luck on everything.

oh damn i missed that, i had to read it again...lmao. on that note man and i hate to bring this car up, but my sister has a 03 mustang that we are throwing a biiiiiig ass turbo in in the next year. we are working on everything as we speak right now....the 3800 v6 is a bit higher rated than the v6 ford used in that year (hell maybe every year lol) but we are expecting at least 400hp out of that car....so im guessing u can do a bit better with a twin setup.. but i always thought one nice sized turbo was better than 2??? i thought i heard that somewhere b4, maybe im trippen??... im sure u will end up with one sweet ass sleeper though!

The problem with one big turbo is too much lag. It takes longer for it to spool up and come to full boost. Two slightly smaller turbos on the other hand, won't lag as much, but won't have as much full boost potential as the smaller ones. Depends on what you want. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the smaller ones can't produce more than 15psi, just saying that the big ones can throw out 40+ pounds of boost...)

Some people go with a bi-turbo setup. But instead of 2 equal-sized turbos, they go with one big turbo and one smaller turbo. Reason being, the small one will take care of the lag and boost quickly in the smaller RPM's, while the big turbo will pick up in the higher RPM range with way more boost than the small one could support.

But with most people going for a street car, not pure drag car, the smaller twins would be more useful than one big one.
