Re: pleeeeease help!

generally means that its a base model car. i.e. it has the minimum of equipment on it. factories produce a limited quantity of "base" model cars during every production year that they use as part of special lease or finance offers because they are the lowest-price version of that model. they're usually cloth interior, basic stereo, manual trans., black or white exterior color, etc...

Re: pleeeeease help!

its an automatic trans, v8 engine, leather enterior, tinted windows, its far from completely basic. my questions to the person selling it were about the engine.

Re: pleeeeease help!

A base Firebird is gonna have the V6, which is the 3.4 liter that year I believe. That sounds like its a Firebird Formula. Check the VIN with CARFAX or something to clarify if you're unsure.

Re: pleeeeease help!

well i read a thing online about how the city auto auction, the place thats selling this car, was sued for seling junkers, that didnt appear to be junkers. here was one story about a lady that got home in her new car and went to open the passenger door to find that it was welded shut. another story was about a guy who rolled down his window to pay a toll and his window fell into the door and shattered. he later found a piece of wood that was being used to hold it up. they were sued several times for stuff like this and a lot of people who bought cars from there say its an unreliable source for buying used cars.

Re: pleeeeease help!

You take a big risk buying from auctions IMO, despite the fact that you can get some great deals sometimes. You should look cars over thoroughly and if they won't let you then don't bother. I don't see how people can sue them though since the vehicles are most likely sold AS IS.
