Whats compatible with a 77 454

I need to know wat can take the beating my 1977 454 big block can crank out its for a chevette project I'm building and wat kind of rear end would be best a 9" ford of a 12 bolt chev?..... any advice?

OK, tell me. What is it that you want to know about? Transmission? Axles? U-joints? Driveshaft? Bushings?

I hope you're going to subframe the car, or it will meet its demise on the first launch. Vega guys ran into this same problem years ago, and a Vega is larger and heavier than a Chevette.

If you want strength and compatibility (of aftermarket parts), go with a modded 9". They're the strongest, although I fully suspect you will never launch it hard enough to kill a 12". You'd get more smoke and tire burn than traction in that application.
