AC compressor
ok, so the bearing in my AC compressor went bad. theres llittle metal shavings on anr around the compressor so i know the clutch is getting fried from the bearing being bad.
does anyone know if itd be easier to pull the compressor and replace the bearing myself. or would it be cheaper to just reaplce the whole compressor. i refuse to take it to a shop and have someone else do it.

Re: AC compressor
I would replace the entire compressor as it will be a lot less hassle than replacing the bearing. Unfortunately, once you replace the compressor you will need to take the car to a shop that can pull a vacuum on the system, unless you have a vacuum pump before it can be recharged properly.
