An easy hole to fall in
When it comes to and A/C system that is not working properly.
Leave it to a trained professional or at least trained. Here is why. Auto parts stores stock huge ammounts of the A/C charge canisters thoughout their stores. This is for the easy fix hopefuls. Try that first. Now your system has a malfunction and it is overfilled. Right off the bat (I) made it worse. Yes I fell in the hole. Previous owner did also. When going thru the trunk to see what else was in there when I bought the car. (came with an awesome set of tools) I found another canister. Now the system is overfilled overfilled and is DANGEROUS. Should the high pressure side break while your face is nearby serious if not fatal injuries will occur. Hot oil will spray with force. As I learn more about how the systems works I realize that I need to be more careful and selective on the battles I chose to fight. You really dont know what has been done to something before it gets to you and I know I wouldnt put my head near an overheated pressure cooker. I'm sure that the Canister has warnings up the wazzo but it is right there at the counter and in the isles and its hot outside and LEAVE IT ON THE SHELF I did not have a break or get burned and consider myself fortunate. |

AC PSI Guage
Yes you are right, an over charged system is a bad thing. I have a guage, you can buy in most auto parts store. I allways check the psi in a system to see where the charge is at.

Sometimes the only original problem was that the auxillary fan for the condenser was not turning on. Rob
