I have a 93 3000gt vr4 and recently had the engine rebuilt. About 2 weeks later my boost gauge (stock) starts going all the way up when i press the gas about a 1/4 of the way down. Im getting very little power if any from my turbos. Ive been told its 3 different things from 3 different places. oe told me the front turbo was locked up and not working at all, another said It was my wastegate not opening, and the last one told me it was the boost controller solenoid. Im not sure if it may have caused the problem but i found the hose that goes from the wastegates to the solenoid and the one that goes to the EGR valve was switched. Anyone know what might really be the problem and how to fix it?

Re: need help figuring out whats wrong
well, to start with, the stock boost gauge is junk, it doesnt even measure boost so much as engine load.

You might have a boost leak somewhere, do a pressure test. If you want more information on that, go to www.stealth316.com and search for pressure test. Also, aftermarket boost gauges can help figure out problems of such. If you want to see if your front turbo has locked up, pull off the intake pipe, put your hand in the turbo inlet and see if it spins freely. Also, when you do this, please make sure your engine is off, i've known someone dumb enough to mess with this with his engine on. He blipped the throttle and got his middle finger chopped off.
