1995 Bonneville Stalling & Low Voltage

I have a 1995 Bonneville SE and recently starting acting up about 4 months ago when it starts up sometimes the battery gauge shows low voltage and car begins to stall. and when i'm driving the gauge will go real low again randomly and at the same time the cars dies out for a split second and fires back up agian without me starting it. and when the voltage meter goes real low you can here the engine as if something was draining the power and once it stops the check engine light comes on and it won't happen again until i shut the car off and re-start it cause the light goes off and then it will do it again randomly until the light comes on. i've taken it to the mechanic and he suggested the ecm computer but wanted a second ipinion if anyone could help.

Did the mechanic read the code, or is the light only come on when the car dies.Have you change out any parts yet.Could be alot of things need to be more specific.Does it drive ok when you give it gas and only stall when you idle.First thing I would do is make sure your battery cables and grounds are clean and have good connection.Its free.

the only thing i replaced was the idle air control valve, and yes when i give it gas it runs ok and pretty much only stalls at idle. but when the voltage goes down it happens at any time not only at idle even going down the highway it happens (the voltage goes down and the car like shutsdown for a second and then keeps going) i don't have to pull over or anything and restart it. and thats when the light comes on. my mechanic didn't have a scanner to read this car. i actually just bought a actron 9150 but i won't have it for about a week so i can 't check anything yet

Well for starters clean up all battery connections and and grounds put on dieletric grease.Also check coil pack and module make sure connection tight too.

i have already done all that before by suggestion from someone i know and the mechanic said the coil pack is ok and working.

Did you ever get the low volt car die problem corrected? I gave my 1999 SSEI to my son and he has been have the same issues over the last 4 months? My e-mail is [email protected] just looking for an answer for him the car still runs great it is almost at 310,000 miles.

Look at the dates before posting, no much chance for a response to a 3 year old dead thread, I would suggest starting a new thread for more responses.
