Does anyone know if i can swap a 420A motor with an auto tranny in a neon to a 420A eclipse with a manual tranny? Will it bolt up? Thanks

I dont know what the hell you are trying to say. You have an auto neon and you want to put the motor and manual tranny from an eclipse in the neon?

The neon and eclipse both use 420a motors but the neon has a different head on it. The intake is on the front of the motor were on the eclipse its on the rear. Also some neons came with SOHC. But other than that the tranny should bolt right up.

Eh I did some minor research and found out that the trannies aren't the same. The motor is but it also sits 180 of the eclipse mening exhaust rear and i/m front so the tranny sits on opposite sides as well. So in theory the block is the same , it can be done. most likely need all the mounts from the old motor in the eclipse and you should be safe for the most part minus the sensors and crap because I dont think they have the same ECU.

Aren't the Neon and the Eclipse 420a's the same just one is rotated 180* of the other, or is the tranny on the same side for both and the neon head is just ass backwards?

Yes, you can if you have lots of money, time, and another car to drive in the mean-time. If you're doing it for a cheap way out because a buddy has an neon motor he'll sell to you for cheap, then no, it takes more than just a motor-to-motor swap.

You are correct in saying that the neon ehaust is to the rear and intake to the front, but that's because the head sits 180 degrees on the block, the block itself still sits on the passenger side with the tranny on the drivers side, just like in our cars.

I figured it out...better exhaust flow for the 300 hp that neons always have with NOS-> stickers and autozone hubcap spinners...

But honestly seems like a shorted distance to get exhaust out while maintaining decent backpressure.
