1991 Transporter Idle valve problem

Hi. I have a '91 Transporter with recon 2.1 litre fuel injected petrol engine that has an idle problem. I've located the Idle Stabilizer Valve and it seems damaged. Replacement costs £170 + labour ($300) which seems steep. Does anyone know of a good UK parts stockist or a T25 breakers yard?

Also the gas milage is around 210 average miles on a 60 litre tank! this sucks quite badly as I am about to embark on a European trip round France , spain and Germany and the gas is going to kill us. is this related to the stabiliser and how can improve the milage???
