I have 97 Accord LX with Honda stereo (am/fm/cd player) that has developed an audio short. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'd like to check and see if it's a short in the wiring, but I can't figure out how to remove the Stereo. Are there instructions/diagram for removal/replacement somewhere on the web?

Re: 97 Accord Stereo - How do I remove it?
i know u have to remove the big piece of plastic that wraps the stereo and goes up to the dash its the biggest piece look for screws and pop out all the switches and by switches i mean defogger and etc and take a look inside the vents with a flashlight and there shoul be two screws in the vents right above the stereo aka centrel vents have fun and alot of patience cus if u break it u have to go to junkyard and get another one like i did

Re: 97 Accord Stereo - How do I remove it?
Here's a very good link with pic's and descriptions for 94-98 Honda Accord stereo removal and installation. We just put a new Pioneer unit in my son's 97 Accord LX Coupe using kit Crutchfield provides. Took a few hours but it came out great.
