2000 Malibu No Crank/No Start

My buddies 2000 Malibu has a no crank/no start issue thats kind of confusing me. It has no power at all including when I hook up jumper cables to my truck and try to use a jumper pack. This also happened to him a couple weeks ago, but we were able to just hook up a jumper pack and it started going.

I'm probably overlooking something stupid, but I was just sitting on my comp. thinking about it and thought I might try to get some ideas from you guys.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is the 3.0 Liter

Charge and test the battery. Look for loose or corroded battery cables.

CHARGE and test the battery with a tester. If no tester. With engine off turn on the high beams for 5 minutes the battery voltage should not go below 10v.

If no click then it the starter, if you get a click charge the battery then turn the car on if luck well, do this from the battery disconnect the negtive cable if the car turns off then it the alternator.
