91 Auto Si 1.6L Idea

ok me and my friend have both swapped our engines, mine the auto 1.5, and my friends the manual 1.6 si.

we were wondering, if we take his si head and mate it to my very underabused dx block, and make an auto si. i think it would work.

Yall swapped in B16A's and you want to just try and mate up the engines to fart around... for something to do to see if you can?

It could be done... would be just like a mini-me right? But since the Si head is MPFI, you'd have to use an auto ECU from a Civic EX, right?
Oh well, maybe I'm wrong, but who knows...

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now

it can be done but is a waste of time. techinically, the Si head doesn't have MPFI. it's the intake mani. so if you want a gain get the si intake mani and pm6 ecu....but good luck finding an AT pm6

the dx and si head are 99% identical. the si has a slightly more aggressive cam grind...but not really much to matter.

we have a few blocks and head laying around...played around with a few. have swapped them around and found no real HP gain or loss. it's all in the MPFI

I knew that... I meant swapping heads would be about the same difficulty, and basically the same principle, sept without vtec

Hey crxlvr might your friend want to sell his Si intake manifold and Si ECU? :toothless

Swap

I wouldn't really mess with swapping the head as much as i would do the MPFI swap. If you wanted to have fun you could throw a VTEC head on there and drive to Walmart faster than you could before.
